Unibook: A million dollar idea app for iPhone and iPad

Dear Mom & Dad,

Like every loving parent, we want to give the best of everything to our kids. This app is initiated by parents themselves who want their kids to love books, to learn from them and to play and have fun at the same time.
Moreover, we are all busy parents and like anybody need to have some time for ourselves. Gadgets do come handy, but they are not always guilt-free. We believe that there are no problems, only solutions. So we decided to find a book that a child 3+ years old can listen, watch and learn playing with.

We chose the book “A million dollar idea” following our hearts. It is written by the Ukrainian author, Katerina Sad, The Old Lion Publishing House. It was love at first sight. No wonder it was acknowledged as the world’s top-100 outstanding book among picturebooks by dPICTUS, Frankfurt book fair in 2019 (https://bit.ly/2O2FE9E, p.13).

It is a lovely story about lively flock of ducks that was left orphaned and full of fear of upcoming cold winter. They decided to learn how to write in order to find a new farmer and avoid starvation. But then they stumbled with a better way to live prosperously.

This story teaches kids to never let go and surrender to fears no matter the troubles on their life path.

So, what we’ve done with this outstanding book? We animated it, placed all the words on the screen and voiced them over. The idea behind it is supported by our Developmental Neuropsychologist who says that children learn words as a whole along, or sometimes even before, they learn individual letters.

We didn’t stop there. We’ve developed a unique impulse technique that allows a child to interact with the storytelling. The child decides when he or she grasped the idea and swipes further. Kids like to be in control.

Last but not least, we planted games and puzzles in that kids genuinely adore. These games along the storytelling help a child to feel part of the ducks’ success. These are what we call – edugament techniques (edugame).
